ENRICH is a training grant funded by the National Institute of Health. It is a five-year grant with a collaborative effort of multiple Principal Investigators from Makerere University under the department of Paediatrics and child health.
The program aims to enhance the Sickle Cell Disease associated Non-Communicable Disease Research Capacity in Uganda.
To train a multi-disciplinary team of research scientists
with expertise to assess the magnitude; pathophysiology, interventions for prevention, treatment, and control of SCD and related NCDs across the lifespan. This will be achieved through degree related long research training to increase the number of researchers working on SCD associated NCDs as per national and regional research priority areas.
